Overview

The warehouse manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Builds effective relationships with supervisors and employees
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws in a fair and consistent manner
  • Trains supervisors and employees on proper warehouse procedures
  • Ensures all safety and compliance training are completed as required
  • Plans, assigns and directs employee workload
  • Writes and delivers introductory and annual performance appraisals
  • Addresses and resolves complex and confidential issues
  • Establishes operational procedures for the warehouse
  • Flexibility to cover various positions and shifts as needed
  • Works closely with Branch Manager and HR to resolve issues and ensure quality service to our customers
  • Reviews and approves payroll in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lead by example
  • Understands AX system and can train others on computer systems
  • Familiarity with current routes required
  • Must pay attention to detail and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills with an ability to converse, read & write in English.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current and valid driver’s license
  • Currently holds or can obtain a DOT Card as required

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, speak, hear, traverse warehouse environments, and communicate/be able to understand information and ideas. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. This job requires frequent use of material handling equipment.
