Overview

The furniture assembler will assemble customer orders for office furniture from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders for loading. Will also help warehouse managers receive incoming merchandise and sort in the appropriate location. 

For candidates based in New York State, this position’s starting hourly range typically pays between $19 - $21/hr.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reads customer order to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Assembles furniture.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders for loading.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Drives vehicle to transport items within the warehouse.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow written and verbal assembly directions.
  • Ability to converse, read & write in English
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to “think on your feet” in a fast paced environment
