Overview

Seeking an experienced manager of inventory accounting and analysis. Roles and responsibilities will include enhancing inventory controls, ensuring accuracy of inventory balances, analyzing product costs and trends, and reducing inventory loss all with the goal of improving inventory reporting and enhancing the profitability of the enterprise.

 

The individual will have demonstrated experience and a history of success in inventory accounting and analysis consistent with the identified roles and responsibilities. In addition, to be successful in this role the individual must be a content expert, detail oriented, collaborative, inquisitive, and a problem-solver.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor inventory across organization to ensure supply of materials is supported by demand.
  • Identify discrepancies in supply (excess/shortage) and drive actions with cross functional teams to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure proper inventory controls are in place, including validating the W.B. Mason inventory audit process.
  • Analyze product costs and trends to enhance understanding and management of profit margins.
  • Engage monthly/quarterly inventory analysis meetings with general accounting to review supply vs. demand and excess liability analysis.
  • Reporting inventory statistics to management and suggesting improvements to inventory control, including reduction of losses.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated content expert in inventory accounting and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and ability to master our information systems.
  • Success in process improvement and ability to influence.
  • Details oriented, but able to see trends and the big picture.
  • Collaborative, able to lead and support cross-functional teams, and excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain or Operations Management (or equivalent experience). MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years related experience in Supply Chain Planning/Procurement.
